Since 1923, BSA Troop 120 has been leading scouts on thier path to Eagle Scout.

100 years (and counting) of scouting…

Troop 102 is one of the oldest Boy Scout troops in Texas. Originally chartered in 1920 and operating continuously since then, the troop has a long heritage of providing the scouting experience for many boys in the Boerne area. We have been strongly supported by our chartering organization, First United Methodist Church (FUMC) of Boerne, since 1960. The church provides us with dedicated meeting and storage space at our "Scout Hut," as well as use of church facilities when needed. We have a strong relationship with Cub Scout Pack 102, also sponsored by FUMC.

We are an active, boy-lead troop that actively participate in the following activities:

Weekly Scout Meetings

The troop meets most Tuesday nights at 7:00 at the Scout Hut behind the First United Methodist Church on East Theissen street, about 1 1/2 blocks east of Main street, near the bowling alley.

Outdoor Activities

We camp and backpack all around texas every month of the year. Each summer, the troop attends a BSA summer camp with activities that may include swimming, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, backpacking, archery, shooting sports and more

High Adventure

The troop offers experienced scouts opportunities to attend high adventure camps such as Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and Florida Sea Base. We typically alternate one or the other each year.

Alamo Area Council Events

We are active in council events such as Merit Badge Universities and National Youth Leadership Training.

Leadership Opportunities

We elect boys each year to the Order of the Arrow, BSAs honor program for camping skills.

Community Service

The troop gives back to our community through volunteer service opportunities, flag ceremonies, and Eagle Scout Projects.

Troop 102 welcomes any young man who would like to visit our troop before making a decision to join. Please feel free to attend a meeting. We recommend contacting us first using the contact form on this home page. This will ensure that we have a troop representative available to talk to you and answer all of your questions.

Troop 102 is blessed with a dedicated team of adult volunteers. Parent participation allows any troop to be successful. We encourage and welcome as much help & participation as you are able to give. If you are interested, just ask our Scoutmaster or Committee Chair how you can help.
